Every gothic girl out there has a serious reason to look forward to October’s coming
It is called Halloween!
If you are a soul sister, you can totally feel all the enthusiasm that I feel. Since the 1st of October I can feel the Halloween vibes surround me, I can smell the baked cakes and I can hear on the air the “Pumpkin’s song”.
A few years ago, I considered Halloween as if it was only a day of the month, I was celebrating only the day of 31st October and I always felt kind of sad at the end of the day, because Halloween was never enough for me.
This year instead, I had the thought to spend the whole of October as a Halloween preparation and create a kind of spooky/cozy mood before the day of 31st. That’s how since this month’s beginning I got my shit together and wrote down some ideas of how I could make this Halloween special. What movies I would watch, what songs I should add to my playlist and how to get into a Halloween mood. As a result, I made a list of all those things that I could do.
Guide for a “freaky” awesome Halloween!
1 Halloween playlist
Instead of listening, again and again, the same Halloween song, why don’t you make a whole playlist with all the songs you love, and you can listen on Halloween season?
Some of the artists you should include in your playlist are:
Merilyn Manson (Of course), Melanie Martinez, Lady Gaga ( I love her!), Nox Arcana and definitely Helloween, all of them are so different in between, but they are fucking awesome!
And if you want an extra creepy cute touch check those lovely headphones from Alpha Skull store:
If you want to get into a Halloween mood one of the things you must do, is to create a kind of spooky atmosphere in your room. Pumpkins, essential candles, skulls, spiders (the fake ones of course!) are some of the things you can include into your Halloween decoration.
3 Movie Nights
Find one-two days of the week that you don’t have many things to do and spend those days watching Halloween movies. Just make a bowl of butter popcorn, wear your hoody spooky sweater, if you don’t have one, you can take a look here, light your candles and watch your favorite movie it doesn’t have to be necessary a “horror” movie ,it can be a Tim Burton or even a musical movie.
Movies you can watch on Halloween:
- Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
- The Addams Family
- AHS “The freak show” season (American Horror Story) it’s always perfect for Halloween
- Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas, the classic ones
4 Try new things!
Over the last months, I try to spend my days according to my bucket list and try new things every time I have the chance to do so. On this Halloween do something that you always wanted to do, but you have never done before!
Here are some ideas:
- Carve a pumpkin
- Go to a theme party
- Try a DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte but put it in the proper mug! Find it hereBake a pumpkin pie
- Take pictures within a forest
5 Masquerade party
I would recommend you, to organize a Halloween masquerade party but if you don’t have the budget or the place to do it, you can always find one to go. Wear your costume and get ready to have fun.
If you still looking for inspiration about what to wear, here are some ideas:
- AHS character! Choose a character of your favorite season and recreate it
- Vampire/witch/zombie. Maybe they are too common, but you can always add a different touch and adopt them into your style. Be the exception!
- Tim Burton character. There are so many different personas to find your own
- But whatever you will choose if you want to add some extra accessories in your costume just check the Alpha Skull’s website
“Life has no fun without a good scare”
Through all your plans, the most important thing is not having the perfect but the “happiest” Halloween time. That’s the point! When something makes you happy, you should ask for more of that, just like a piece of chocolate cake!
In my country, only a few people celebrate Halloween and usually the night of 31st of October, when I go out with my costume, they look at me like as if I’m a lunatic. They have the thought that I live into my own fantasy world. Guess what, I am truly happy there, instead of ‘’coming down’’ to earth and getting mixed with them into their own familiar hell which they call “normality”, I prefer my own fantasy world!
If you live in a place where people don’t celebrate the Halloween don’t hesitate to have fun under the fear of judging. Be the happy spooky melody of your world, leave your mark and do what it makes your soul flying!
